Getting started
How do I log a trade?
Use the Log trade action - the + button in the top bar, or open the Trade Log from the sidebar. Enter the symbol, side, size, entry and exit, and any notes, then save.
Your trade is added to your journal and your analytics update immediately. You can edit or delete a trade later from the Trade Log, and add a screenshot or reflection at any time.
How do I import trades from a CSV file?
From the Trade Log, choose Import and upload a .csv export from your broker or spreadsheet. We map the columns automatically and show you a preview before anything is saved, so you can confirm the data looks right first.
Most broker exports work out of the box. If a column is not recognised you can map it by hand in the preview step. Importing again is safe - we skip rows that look like duplicates of trades you already have.
How do I set my account size?
Open Settings and go to the Account tab, then set your Starting equity. This is your starting capital and it is the basis for your percentage returns and drawdown, so setting it makes your stats accurate.
You can change it whenever your capital changes. If you trade several accounts you can give each one its own size under Trading accounts.
How do I connect a broker?
The quickest way to get your trades in is Import CSV from the top bar - export a CSV from your broker or platform and upload it.
For supported brokers you can also set up live sync under Settings, Broker connections. Any API keys or secrets you provide there are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM), used only to import your activity, and never shared. Connections are read-only - we never place trades.
What should I do in my first week?
Three steps get you the most value fast: set your account size, log or import a handful of recent trades, and tag each with the strategy you used.
Once you have a dozen or so trades, the dashboard and the Insights engine start surfacing your real edges and leaks. The activation checklist on your dashboard walks you through the same steps.
Features
How do strategies work?
A strategy is a named playbook you attach to a trade (for example Breakout or Mean reversion). Tagging your trades lets the app break down win rate, expectancy and R-multiple by strategy, so you can see which playbooks actually make you money.
Create strategies from the Strategies page, or pick from the built-in templates if you are just starting out. You can mark a strategy private or share it.
What are groups?
Groups are small communities - an accountability circle, a trading room, or a class. Inside a group you can chat in real time and (with each member's consent) follow each other's progress.
Groups can be public, gated-public (anyone can request to join), or invite-only. Joining a group never exposes your private trades - only the stats you have chosen to make public are visible to others.
Does the leaderboard show my account balance?
No. The leaderboard and public profiles are percentage-only by design - they rank and display returns as percentages, never your dollar balances or position sizes.
You control whether you appear at all (Settings, Leaderboard), how your name shows (Hidden as Anonymous, a pseudonym, or your real name), and which accounts feed your public percentage. You can also hide individual public stats. Your own dashboard always shows everything.
What does coaching do?
Coaching lets a coach track the members of groups they run, with each member's explicit consent. A coach gets a dashboard of consenting members' performance so they can give targeted feedback.
Becoming a coach is part of the Elite plan and is opt-in under Settings, Coaching. Members are never tracked without turning on detail consent for that group.
What is the Academy?
The Academy is the built-in learning library - lessons, a glossary and quizzes covering the fundamentals of trading and how to get the most out of your journal.
The full Academy core is free on every plan. Certificates and progress tracking are part of the paid plans.
How does backtesting work?
Backtesting lets you replay a strategy over your history to see how it would have performed, with stats like win rate, expectancy and drawdown.
Backtesting is available on the Pro and Elite plans. Elite adds a deep audit that flags overfitting and reports a Deflated Sharpe, so a result that is just luck does not fool you.
What is the Trader Card?
The Trader Card is a shareable summary of your trading identity - your auto-detected style, headline stats and recent form - that you can post or send to others.
Like everything public on the platform it is percentage-only and respects your privacy settings, so it never reveals dollar amounts.
What is the Insights engine?
The Insights engine automatically scans your trades for edges and leaks - things like a strategy that quietly loses money, a session you trade worse in, or an emotion that precedes your mistakes.
Recent insights are available to everyone; the full-history engine and the psychology and mistake analytics are part of the Pro and Elite plans.
Account & data
Is my data private?
Yes. Your trades and journal entries are private by default and isolated to your account. Nothing is public unless you explicitly choose to share it - for example by opting into the leaderboard or making a strategy public.
Read the full Privacy Policy for exactly what we store and how it is protected.
How do I export or delete my data and account?
Both are self-serve from Settings, Account. You can export your trades and data at any time, and permanently delete your account and all associated data.
Deletion is permanent and covers your trades, journal, strategies and broker connections. See the Privacy Policy for what deletion covers.
How do I change my email or password?
Go to Settings, Account. You can update the email on your account (we send a confirmation link to the new address) and change your password there.
If you have forgotten your password, use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page to get a reset email.
How do I sign out of other devices?
In Settings, Account you can sign out everywhere - this ends every active session except the one you are using, which is useful if you signed in on a shared or lost device.
Changing your password also invalidates other sessions.
How do I turn on two-factor authentication?
Open Settings, Account and find Security. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or 1Password) and enter the 6-digit code to enable two-factor authentication.
Once enabled you will be asked for a code from your app each time you sign in, adding a strong second layer of protection.
Billing & plans
What plans are available?
There are three plans. Free ($0) is a genuine, permanent taste: log unlimited trades, the whole social loop (share, follow, leaderboard and groups), the full Academy core, and the last 30 days of analytics.
Pro ($13.99/month or $139.99/year) unlocks the full platform: full-history analytics and the Insights engine, psychology and mistake analytics, the live-priced portfolio, backtesting and unlimited connections.
Elite ($28.99/month or $289.99/year) adds the deep backtest audit, coaching, consent-gated client analytics and priority support. The social loop is never paywalled.
Is there a free trial?
Yes - Pro comes with a 14-day free trial that does not require a card, so you can try the full platform before deciding.
There is also a permanently free plan, so you are never forced to pay just to keep using your journal.
How do I change or cancel my plan?
Go to Settings, Billing and open Manage billing to change your plan or cancel. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Cancelling never deletes your data - you keep your account and your journal on the Free plan, and you can resubscribe at any time.
Troubleshooting
My broker sync is not importing trades. What do I check?
First confirm the connection is still active under Settings, Broker connections - an expired or revoked API key needs reconnecting. Check that the key has read permission for trade history.
Sync only pulls closed activity, so open positions will not appear until they close. If a specific trade is missing, you can always add it manually or via CSV import in the meantime, and contact us with the broker name and the trade date if it persists.
Prices or my portfolio value look wrong or stale.
Live prices refresh periodically and can briefly lag the market, especially right at the open or for thinly traded symbols. Refresh the page to pull the latest values.
If a symbol shows no price, check that it is spelled the way your data source expects (for example the exchange suffix on some tickers). Crypto and FX use their own feeds. If a value still looks wrong after a refresh, contact us with the symbol.
The app looks broken or will not load.
Most display or loading glitches clear with a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R, or Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac) to drop a stale cached file. Make sure you are on a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
Disabling an aggressive ad blocker or privacy extension for the site, or trying a private window, rules out an extension breaking the page. If it still will not load, contact us and include your browser and what you were doing.
My stats or percentages look off.
The most common cause is an unset or wrong account size - your percentage returns and drawdown are calculated against your starting equity, so set it under Settings, Account.
Also check that trades have the right entry, exit and size, and that scratched (break-even) trades are not skewing your win rate. If something still does not add up, contact us and describe what you expected to see.
